The government said it will start giving out anti-Covid packs from 10am on Saturday, with the hope of sending them to all households across Hong Kong within a week.
Each anti-epidemic service bag contains 10 rapid test kits, 10 KN95 face masks and proprietary Chinese medicine.
In a statement, authorities said volunteers and civil servants will first deliver the packs to grassroots families which live in the so-called "three-nil" buildings – blocks which don't have owners' corporations, residents' organisations or aren't managed by property management companies.
If the residents aren't at home, officials will leave a collection slip and they can collect the bags at 90 distribution points across Hong Kong from Thursday next week.
Public housing tenants will get the packs through the Housing Department and Housing Society, while property management firms or owners' corporations will be responsible for distributing them at private buildings.
People living in remote areas will get their bags from the Heung Yee Kuk and Rural Committees, while non-governmental organisations will help give them out to the homeless.
