The dead body of a man wrapped in three to four layers of plastic bags was found at a construction site for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge in Tung Chung on Friday.

Police say they believe he was murdered one to two weeks ago, but were not sure if he had been murdered at the spot where the body was found.

Officers said there were no ID documents or personal items on the corpse, but said that they believe the dead man was an "Asian aged between 20 and 50".

Police said they did not find any fatal wounds on the body. An autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
