Police have arrested a man for trying to snatch a gun from an officer who was handling a family dispute at his home in Cheung Sha Wan.
The officer arrived at the suspect’s home on Shun Ning Road late on Saturday night, after receiving reports that he had hit his 12-year-old daughter with a clothes hanger.
The man became upset and tried to snatch the officer's gun, but was subdued. He was also arrested for alleged child abuse.
The incident comes just days after a drunk man was charged after he grabbed a gun from a policeman, fire three shots and injured two officers at his home in Sha Tin.
One officer was hit in his right arm and leg. His colleague escaped with fairly minor injuries after a bullet scratched his leg.
