The chairman of the Travel Industry Council Jason Wong has called on the government to consider helping shops and restaurants affected by the cancellation of Saturday's Chinese New Year fireworks show. But he didn't elaborate.
It was called off by the government out of respect for victims of the bus crash a week ago in which 19 people were killed and dozens were injured.
Mr Wong said he didn't think tourists would have any problems finding other things to do during the festival.
Separately, Chief Executive Carrie Lam rejected criticisms that the government was not decisive enough in cancelling the fireworks display, saying the priority was helping victims of the bus tragedy.
