Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has announced the appointments of Paul Chow as Group Chief Sustainability Officer and Jeffrey Ng as Group Chief Communications Officer.
In his newly established role, Chow will oversee the development and implementation of sustainability strategies aligned with HKEX’s long-term goals, ensuring ESG factors are integrated into the company’s operations, policies, and culture.
He will lead initiatives such as the Core Climate carbon marketplace and oversee HKEX’s sustainability division, while continuing his responsibilities as Group General Counsel, a position he has held since joining HKEX in April 2021.
Chow previously served as Group General Counsel at Cathay Pacific Airways and has extensive experience in leading law firms.
Ng, who has served as Interim Group Chief Communications Officer since January 2024, will now officially take on the role.
He will focus on enhancing HKEX’s global reputation and expanding its international reach while managing a broad range of corporate communications functions, including media and government relations, internal communications, branding, strategic and digital communications, and events management.
Ng joined HKEX in 2017 and previously headed media and government relations, drawing on over a decade of experience as a journalist with Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal.
He held several senior editorial positions at Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal and oversaw HKEX’s social media profile.
Both Chow and Ng will report to HKEX Chief Executive Officer Bonnie Y Chan, with their appointments effective from 1 January 2025.
