Claudia Mo speaks to Joanne Wong

Hong Kong First legislator Claudia Mo has failed to secure a Legco debate on how government officials monitor lawmakers in the council building.

The issue of civil servants recording the whereabouts of lawmakers was brought up by the Democratic Party's Ted Hui recently, when he snatched the phone of a government officer and searched through it.

Lawmakers voted down Mo's proposal for a debate next week on the monitoring.

But the lawmaker said that she still believes she has achieved the goal of flagging up the issue of executive intrusion into the legislature.

Mo also told RTHK's Joanne Wong that sending high ranking civil servants to do menial tasks like ushering in lawmakers is a waste of money and talent.
