The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department on Tuesday said it's completed the inspections of lifts that are the same as the one involved in an accident in Tsuen Wan earlier this month and found all of them to be safe.
In a statement, the EMSD said of the 373 elevators it looked at, there were relatively serious wear-and-tear issues with three of them, but this did not affect their operation.
The department added that it expects to complete its investigation into the accident at Waterside Plaza within two to three months.
A couple were seriously hurt when a lift there failed to brake, and shot-up until it hit the roof of the lift-shaft.
