  • No new cases found at Aberdeen and Yau Tong lockdowns

Health authorities on Thursday found no new Covid cases at overnight lockdowns in Aberdeen and Yau Tong.

Pik Long House, at Shek Pan Wai Estate in Aberden, was sealed off for testing just before 9 pm on Wednesday, after a 20-year-old resident tested preliminary positive for the coronavirus.

The man is a University of Hong Kong student, who works part-time at the Dustykid Tea Shop - Light as Dust in Sheung Wan and Wan Chai. He had also dined at a Japanese restaurant in Hysan Place at about the same time as a confirmed patient.

Earlier, Maya Tower 1 on Shung Shan Street in Yau Tong was also locked down. Authorities acted after a 19-year-old student, who lives there, tested preliminary positive. He studies at Hong Kong Tang King Po College and last went to school on January 7.

The 19-year-old is a family member of a confirmed case, a 71-year woman, who lives in Flora Garden in North Point.

In all, about 2,455 people were tested.

Hong Kong on Wednesday reported 22 confirmed cases, including five local cases
