Several children were taken to hospital on Thursday after two were knocked down by buffaloes and others fell as they dodged the animals.

Police said they received a report in the morning about two buffaloes charging through Pui O on Lantau.

One of the two children struck by the buffaloes, a girl, suffered a stomach injury and was reported to have been unconscious at one point.

Eight children were said to have ended up on the ground after running out of the animals' way.
