Organisers of the annual June 4 candlelight vigil commemorating those who lost their lives during the brutal military crackdown against pro-democracy activists in Beijing 30 years ago are expecting a large turnout at the event on Tuesday night.
But with the rise of localism over the past few years, there has been a significant decline in the number of young people attending the vigil at Victoria Park – with many saying they don’t think Hong Kong should concern itself with China’s affairs.
RTHK’s Janice Wong spoke to six university students from different institutions to find out what they think about the Tiananmen Square massacre, 30 years on.
