About thirty people from the Confederation of Trade Unions (CTU) have protested outside Government House, demanding the government legislate on standard working hours and increase the number of statutory holidays.
The protesters want the government to increase the number of statutory holidays under the Employment Ordinance from 12 days to 17 days, to include five more bank holidays.
A spokesperson for the CTU said workers in Hong Kong were being made to “work like dogs”, and this was affecting their quality of life.
