Tim Marlow talks to RTHK's Richard Pyne
Works from emerging and renowned Hong Kong and international artists are on display at the Harbour Arts Sculpture Park – at the harbourfront in Admirality – for the next six weeks.
The park is the city's first international sculpture park, where the public can enjoy – free of charge – works from well known artists like Britain's Antony Gormley and Tracey Emin.
The show's co-curator Tim Marlow, the artistic director at London's Royal Academy of Arts, said the Hong Kong skyline provides one of the most dramatic backdrops he has ever seen at an exhibition.
Commenting on the displays, he said Emin's creation is touching not just because of its concept but because it is also a personal tribute to the late David Tang, the founder of Hong Kong fashion house Shanghai Tang, who died last year.
Marlow told RTHK's Richard Pyne that Hong Kong has seen a surge in the arts in the last decade and is well on its way to become one of the world's major arts centres.
