A day after enforcing a strict lockdown on 13 million people in Xi'an - the ancient capital of Shaanxi - mainland officials have reported 52 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in the province.
On Thursday, the Xinhua News Agency reported 127 people were found to have the virus in the second round of citywide nucleic acid testing in Xi'an.

The others were in Zhejiang, Guangdong and Guangxi.
The commission also confirmed 32 new imported cases in 10 provinces and regions.
