Beijing hopes the United States will remove tariffs on Chinese goods and stop cracking down on Chinese firms as soon as possible, commerce ministry spokeswoman Shu Jueting told a news conference on Thursday.
Stable and healthy bilateral trade relations will help stabilise global supply chains and suport the global economic recovery, Shu said following the publication of a US-China Business Council report last week that said China remains an important export destination for the United States.
Shu also said that the mainland’s Covid-19 curbs had affected the operations of some foreign firms in China, and had disrupted supply chains in the Yangtze River and Pearl River deltas. She said the environment for foreign trade was becoming more severe and complex. (Reuters)
