Mainland authorities have recorded more than 2,000 new Covid-19 cases.

The National Health Commission on Monday reported 427 locally transmitted and 1,662 local asymptomatic infections, putting the day's tally at 2,089.

Of the locally transmitted cases, 145 were from Inner Mongolia, 82 from Xinjiang and 38 in Guangdong.

Inner Mongolia also accounted for the most local asymptomatic infections at 637.
