Fang Fenghui, a former chief of joint staff of the People’s Liberation Army, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for fraud, mainland media reported on Wednesday.
Xinhua News Agency said a military court found Fang guilty of accepting and offering bribes, as well as "holding a huge amount of property from unidentified sources".
Fang was also deprived of his political rights for life and had his personal property confiscated, Xinhua said.
The report added that the seized money and property would be turned over to the state coffers.
