Xinhua News Agency on Thursday said Guangdong authorities were sending epidemiology experts and Covid-19 testing vehicles to Hong Kong in order to help the city combat the outbreaks.
The agency said it was per the instruction given by the National Health Commission’s deputy director, Wang Hesheng, who recently went to Shenzhen to lead efforts to provide aid to the SAR.
The report did not say how many experts and vehicles will be arriving in Hong Kong.
The report said mainland authorities will continue to coordinate resources to help curb the spread of the virus in Hong Kong.
President Xi Jinping had earlier said that the central government and other local authorities must give their full support and assistance to the SAR.
