A memorial for the late former president Jiang Zemin will be held on Tuesday in Beijing.
An announcement from Jiang's funeral committee said it will start at 10am at the Great Hall of the People.
The event will be broadcast live.
During the ceremony, people across the country will observe three minutes of silence.
And all public entertainment activities are to be suspended on Tuesday.
Authorities also announced that no funeral will be held.
Meanwhile, Jiang's remains were transferred to Beijing from Shanghai – where he died on Wednesday – aboard a special flight.
