Liu Xia, the widow of late Nobel laureate Liu Xiaobo, is still reportedly under surveillance by mainland police. She has been under house arrest and her whereabouts have been unknown - since her husband died last year.
Her friend and human rights activist on the mainland, Ye Du, said Liu Xia now lives on her own and is followed whenever she goes out. He said she has been taking pills to fight depression but was allowed to meet her brother on Thursday.
