The National Health Commission has confirmed another 116 locally transmitted Covid-19 infections in its daily report on Friday, according to the Xinhua New Agency.
Shaanxi - where the provincial capital Xi'an remains in lockdown - accounted for 57 of the cases, while 56 were in neighbouring Henan and three in the eastern coastal province of Zhejiang, the commission said.
It also reported 58 new imported cases in 13 provinces and regions, and six suspected infections among new mainland arrivals in Shanghai.
