Macau is launching a third mass Covid testing exercise, following the discovery of a new infection in the SAR.
The new case involves a 46-year-old renovation worker who travelled from Zhuhai to Macau on September the 26th. Authorities are still trying to find out where the man was infected.
Officials said they aimed to test the entire population of some 650,000 people within 48 hours, with around 40 testing stations to open from 9pm on Monday.
In light of the new Covid case, the authorities also halted a plan to lift the 14-day quarantine requirement for travellers entering Zhuhai from Macau.
People already preparing to go to the Guangdong city were urged to scrap their travel plans.
Earlier on Monday, the Macau authorities also suspended a plan to reopen primary and secondary schools.
