Mainland Covid Cases Continue To Drop

Mainland authorities on Tuesday reported 688 new Covid-19 infections, 181 fewer than the day before.
Of the latest cases, 639 were locally transmitted.
The National Health Commission said there were a total of 156 symptomatic infections. Among them, 141 were local cases.
The latest infections were mainly from Shanghai which logged 480 cases, 58 of them locally transmitted.
An 85-year-old female patient in Shanghai who suffered from chronic diseases died, bringing the mainland's death toll to 5,224.
Meanwhile, Beijing reported 48 cases, 41 of which were symptomatic.
As of Monday, the mainland has confirmed 223,488 cases.
