Mainland authorities on Sunday reported 31,601 new local Covid cases, down slightly on the previous tally of nearly 33,000.
Health officials said 4,168, or around 13 percent, had symptoms, while the rest were asymptomatic.
There were two more Covid-related deaths – from Shandong province and Sichuan province.
Chongqing reported 5,372 new cases, as the mega-city lifted some restrictions. PCR tests are now only needed when specified and close contacts of Covid patients can quarantine at home under certain conditions.
Meanwhile Beijing, which saw 3,194 new cases, has scrapped registration for the online purchase of certain medicines.
Guangdong logged 6,653 new cases, most of them in Guangzhou.
