Mainland health authorities on Monday reported 16 new cases of the new coronavirus and 14 deaths, the People's Daily newspaper said.
The Communist Party's flagship newspaper, quoting China's National Health Commission, said all the deaths were in Hubei province.
Hubei, and its provincial capital Wuhan, was the location of the first major outbreak of the disease late last year.
Although the outbreak in the province appears to have been brought under control, restrictions remain in place.
