Mainland authorities have reported 2,028 new local symptomatic Covid-19 infections.
Saturday's figure was down from 2,229 a day earlier.
Of the latest cases which excluded imported ones, Guangdong province accounted for 915 of them.
There were no new deaths.
Mainland authorities stopped reporting asymptomatic cases from Wednesday, citing a lack of testing among people with no symptoms that was making it difficult to accurately tally the total count. (Xinhua/Reuters)
