Mainland Reports 2,281 Symptomatic Covid Cases

Mainland authorities on Tuesday reported an increase in Covid-19 infections, with Jilin province continuing to be hardest hit.
In total, the National Health Commission reported 2,281 symptomatic local cases, compared with 1,947 the day before.
The number of new asymptomatic cases, meanwhile, dropped slightly to 2,313 from 2,492 logged on Monday.
More than 80 percent of the symptomatic local cases were recorded in Jilin.
Infections were also reported in other provinces, including Fujian, Hebei, Liaoning and Heilongjiang.
The number of infections reported in Guangdong province dropped to 25, from 38 on Monday.
Shenzhen recorded 23 infections -- down from 33 the day before.
There have been 134,564 confirmed coronavirus infections and 4,638 Covid-related deaths on the mainland since the pandemic began.
