Mainland health authorities on Friday reported 42 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 38 were imported, the state-run People's Daily newspaper said.
Quoting the National Health Commission's daily report, the paper said there had also been four new domestically transmitted cases, with three in Guangdong province and one in Heilongjiang; and one death in Hubei province, the epicentre of the first outbreak.
The commission also reported three new suspected cases, all of which had come from abroad, the paper said.
The overall number of confirmed cases on the mainland stood at 81,907 on Thursday, the paper said.
