Mainland Sees 61 New Local Covid-19 Cases

Mainland authorities on Thursday reported 61 new local Covid-19 cases, compared with 68 infections the day before.
This is the third day in a row the mainland reported fewer than a hundred local coronavirus cases.
The new infections include 18 symptomatic and 43 asymptomatic cases.
Beijing reported the highest number of cases – 11 new symptomatic infections for June 1, down from 14 a day earlier, while asymptomatic cases rose to three from one the previous day.
The financial hub of Shanghai reported eight new asymptomatic coronavirus cases, down from 10 a day earlier, with new symptomatic cases at five, the same as the previous day.
Places such as Henan, Sichuan, Tianjin, Shandong and Liaoning also reported infections.
There were no new fatalities, leaving the death toll at 5,226.
As of June 1, mainland China had confirmed 224,171 cases.
