Sanya Reports 413 New Covid Cases

Sanya in Hainan province on Sunday accounted for more than half of the mainland's latest Covid-19 infections.
According to the National Health Commission, the resort town reported 186 locally transmitted and 227 local asymptomatic cases, for a total of 413.
Hainan as a whole reported 504 infections, while the overall tally in the mainland stood at 807.
Sanya has been placed under lockdown by mainland authorities since Saturday. Basic services remain available while public transport has been suspended.
Similar restrictions are in place in the provincial capital of Haikou. Residents there were told to avoid non-essential travel and take PCR tests on a regular basis.
