Shanghai Covid Figures Up, But All Within Quarantine

Health authorities reported a slight increase in the number of new Covid-19 cases in Shanghai, though no new cases were found outside quarantined areas for a fourth consecutive day.
The financial hub reported 759 new local asymptomatic cases, up from 746 a day earlier. Confirmed symptomatic cases rose to 96 from 77 the previous day, the city's government said in a statement.
The city reported three new Covid-19 related deaths, compared with one a day earlier.
There was also a slight increase in Beijing, with 52 symptomatic cases and 17 asymptomatic ones – compared to 43 and nine a day earlier.
Overall, the National Health Commission said the mainland recorded 1,305 new coronavirus cases, of which 240 were symptomatic and 1,065 were asymptomatic.
That compares with 1,100 new cases a day earlier, consisting of 175 symptomatic and 925 asymptomatic infections. (Additional reporting by Reuters)
