Taiwan Covid Caseload, Deaths Hit New Highs

The number of new local Covid-19 infections and deaths in Taiwan reached new highs on Friday.
The island reported 94,808 new locally-transmitted cases and 126 additional fatalities, both single-day highs since the pandemic began.
New Taipei City reported 19,363 new infections, followed by 11,501 in Taichung.
There were also 47 imported cases.
The total number of Covid-19 infections in Taiwan has topped 1.7 million, and the number of dead stood at 1,784.
