A photo shared on social media by mainland news outlets appears to show the collapsed roof at a bar in Baise, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Mainland media say three people have died and 87 others have been injured after the roof of a bar collapsed in Baise, Guangxi.

Rescue workers were still searching for four people believed to be trapped under debris.

One of those injured was in a critical condition, Xinhua News Agency reported, while around a dozen were severely hurt.

Local officials were quoted as saying that more than 250 rescue workers were sent to the scene after the bar's roof came down in the early hours of Monday.

The 700-square metre bar, in the Youjiang district of the city, is located on the top floor of a three-storey steel-framed building, Xinhua said.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the collapse.
