A vice-chairman of the central government’s top advisory body, former Hong Kong Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa, says many people in Hong Kong lack understanding of the country, and he hopes central government advisers can talk about the country as much as possible.

Speaking at a meeting on the sidelines of the annual Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in Beijing, Tung told local delegates that they should help people in Hong Kong gain a full understanding of the country by telling them, for example, it was the leadership of the Communist Party that led to its success today.

The former Chief Executive also said members need to help the SAR integrate into the country's development.

Other CPPCC delegates also spoke of how they should improve communication with Hong Kong teenagers.
