President Xi Jinping has stressed the importance of remaining steadfast in deepening reform and expanding high-standard opening up.
Continuing on his Guangdong trip on Wednesday, Xi said Chinese modernisation is based on the country's realities and conditions, and has clear goals, plans and strategies.
Xi made the remarks at a research and development centre belonging to the Guangzhou Automobile Group in Guangzhou, and urged the province to take the lead in advancing Chinese modernisation.
The president also stressed that China will not tread the path of Western modernisation as such a path leads nowhere. (Xinhua)
