Applications For 3 Subsidies Open

Applications for the new round of subsidy schemes under the Anti-epidemic Fund for cinemas, amusement game centres as well as mahjong/tin kau licence holders opened today.

The Cinemas Subsidy Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 per screen to each existing cinema licensed as a place of public entertainment with commercial operation in November. The maximum subsidy for a cinema circuit is $3 million.

The application period ends on January 12.

The Amusement Game Centres Subsidy Scheme provides a $100,000 one-off subsidy to each eligible operator licensed under the Amusement Game Centres Ordinance.

It also covers eligible operators of e-sports venues that have been exempted or have applied for but not yet obtained an exemption from the ordinance, and eligible operators of internet computer services centres registered with the Home Affairs Department’s Office of the Licensing Authority.

The Mahjong/Tin Kau Licence Holder Subsidy Scheme provides a one-off $100,000 subsidy to each eligible licence holder under the Gambling Ordinance.

The application deadline for both schemes is January 30.
