Ashley Alder Reappointment Welcomed
Financial Secretary Paul Chan today welcomed the reappointment of Ashley Alder as International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) Board Chair for a third term.
Mr Chan said the reappointment of Mr Alder, the Securities & Futures Commission’s Chief Executive Officer, reaffirms Hong Kong’s position as a premier international financial centre and a key player on the global scene.
The IOSCO is the leading international policy forum for securities regulators, with membership covering more than 95% of the world’s securities markets in more than 115 jurisdictions.
Its board, made up of 34 global securities regulators, is the group's governing and standard-setting body. Mr Alder has been the board’s chair since May 2016.
