FS Visits Hongkong Post
Financial Secretary Paul Chan today visited Hongkong Post to learn about its work in supporting the implementation of the Cash Payout Scheme.
Mr Chan toured the General Post Office in Central and spoke with staff there.
He was glad to learn that the collection and processing of registration forms by Hongkong Post has been smooth since June 21, the first day of registration for the scheme.
Mr Chan thanked Hongkong Post’s support for the scheme, including the special arrangement to open about 120 post offices on June 21 to facilitate the submission of registration forms.
He then visited the Data Input Centre in Kowloon Bay established by Hongkong Post for the scheme and was briefed on the process of handling registration forms and data input.
The Financial Secretary also toured the Hongkong Post Call Centre which operates the hotline 2908 0080 to provide public enquiry services relating to the scheme’s cheque collection matters.
To facilitate the public and speed up the process, Hongkong Post will arrange designated counters at some post offices for cheque collection from July 20.
As of today, more than 4.6 million and about 57,000 registrations were received through banks and Hongkong Post.
Visit the scheme’s website or call 18 2020 for more details.
