Govt To Implement Budget Measures
Financial Secretary Paul Chan today said the Government’s first and foremost task is to implement the relief measures in the Budget as well as in the Anti-epidemic Fund as soon as possible.
Mr Chan made the statement after the Legislative Council approved the 2020-21 Budget by passing the Appropriation Bill 2020.
“I believe when those measures are implemented, the effect of those measures will be better felt by the community.”
Regarding the distribution of the $10,000 handout to Hong Kong residents, Mr Chan said the Government plans to start registration at the end of June.
“Our plan is to start registration towards the end of June, start the payment in July, and we believe most of the eligible individuals will be able to get their payment by the end of August.”
