Govt Reports Initially Positive Case
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) today said that an Analyst/Programmer grade officer has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19.
The officer provides IT procurement-related administrative services at 6/F, North Point Government Offices, where his workplace is not open to the public. He does not have contact with members of the public while at work and last performed his duties on December 14.
He sought medical treatment at a clinic after feeling unwell and was notified last night of the preliminary positive test result.
The officer has no recent travel history. He wore masks when performing his duties and his body temperature was normal during work.
The OGCIO said it has arranged a thorough cleaning and sterilisation of the work areas concerned. Staff who worked with the officer will also be arranged to work from home and undergo COVID-19 testing.
