Green Finance Plan Welcomed
The Government today welcomed the launch of the Green & Sustainable Finance Strategic Plan.
Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui noted that the strategic plan announced by the Green & Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group sets out the shared vision to promote green and sustainable finance in Hong Kong and beyond.
He said: "This echoes the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 as announced by the Chief Executive in her 2020 Policy Address, demonstrating our strong commitment and determination to boost investments conducive to low-carbon transformation in Hong Kong."
The financial sector and relevant stakeholders are invited to work with the Government to elevate Hong Kong's position as a regional green and sustainable finance hub by taking forward the strategic plan and capitalising on the enormous green finance opportunities presented by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Mr Hui added.
