The founder of Henderson Land, Lee Shau-kee, is considering stepping down as the company's chairman and managing director.

In a filing to the stock exchange, the company said details of Lee's decision and future arrangements will be announced at the company's annual general meeting in May.

It also said the company board is considering proposing the real estate tycoon's sons, Peter and Martin, to take over the reins.

But it said the 91-year-old shall remain as a company director.

This expected move comes about a year after fellow tycoon Li Ka-shing also announced his retirement.
