HK's 5G Plan On Track: CE
Hong Kong's plan to provide 5G mobile services is keeping pace with the world.
Chief Executive Carrie Lam made the statement at her Legislative Council question and answer session today.
Mrs Lam said an effective communication network is vital for Hong Kong's smart city development, and the Steering Committee on Innovation & Technology is studying the matter.
She rejected claims the Government's plan for launching 5G mobile services is lagging behind.
Hong Kong is keeping pace with other advanced economies, Mrs Lam said, adding 5G services are expected to be rolled out globally in 2019 or 2020.
