Hong Kong Shares End The Week Higher

Local stocks ended the day in positive territory, as regional markets struggled to find clear direction after a week spent seesawing to match the prevailing momentum on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index ended the day up 1.1 percent, or 323 points, at 29,078, marking a 0.9 percent rise for the week.
Market turnover was HK$143 billion.
Tech shares led the way, with Meituan and Alibaba Health each surging about 5 percent. Tencent rose 1.7 percent.
Shares across the border also ended higher as President Xi Jinping's renewed green pledge bolstered clean energy stocks.
The Shanghai Composite Index put on a quarter of a percent, the blue-chip CSI300 index rose 0.9 percent, and the Shenzhen Composite Index climbed 0.5 percent.
Regional shares were mixed.
Tokyo led losses with the Nikkei down 0.6 percent by the close, finishing 2.2 percent lower for the week. Singapore, Bangkok and Manila also saw modest losses, while Seoul and Taipei posted gains. (Additional reporting by AFP)
