Hong Kong shares ended with gains on Tuesday to bring to an end a six-day losing streak with investors keeping tabs on developments in the China-US trade saga.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.2 percent, or 58 points, to 26,281.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.3 percent, or 8 points, to 2,985 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was 0.3 percent, or 5 points, up at 1,665.

Tokyo finished 0.1 percent higher. Seoul put on 0.5 percent and Singapore added 0.3 percent with Manila, Mumbai and Bangkok also up. Sydney and Taipei were barely moved, while Wellington dipped 0.1 percent and Jakarta sank more than one percent. (AFP)
