Joshua Law Visits Insolvency Office
Secretary for the Civil Service Joshua Law visited the Official Receiver's Office today to get an update on the department's work and the challenges staff face.
Mr Law met Official Receiver Phyllis McKenna and directorate staff to learn about the department's various statutory duties relating to insolvency.
He then toured the Case Management Division. He was briefed on the process of insolvency administration, which includes realisation of assets, distribution of dividends, investigation into causes of winding-up and bankruptcy, and monitoring the conduct of private insolvency practitioners.
Mr Law also visited the Legal Services Division to learn about its responsibilities in providing legal advice on the administration of insolvent estates.
During a tea gathering with staff, he encouraged them to continue providing quality and professional services to the public.
