Myanmar Visa-free Access Extended
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region passport holders will continue to enjoy visa-free access to Myanmar following the country's extension of a tourist visa pilot scheme for one year until September 30, 2020, the Immigration Department announced today.
Under the scheme, HKSAR passport holders can visit Myanmar without a visa for up to 30 days.
Noting Myanmar is along the Belt & Road, the department said the extension of Myanmar’s Tourist Visa Exemption Pilot Scheme will bring greater travel convenience, and strengthen the tourism, cultural and economic ties between the two places.
Including Myanmar, 166 countries and territories have granted visa-free access or visa-on-arrival to HKSAR passport holders.
