Official figures show Hong Kong’s property prices fell for the fourth consecutive month in September, amid the city's ongoing political unrest and China-US trade tensions.

The Rating and Valuation Department said private home prices dropped by 1.8 percent last month, worse than the 1.4 percent fall reported in August.

The prices of small to medium-sized flats which measure between 431 and 752 square feet fell the most, by an average of 2.3 percent.

Meanwhile, private rents fell 1.1 percent last month.
