Testing, Certification Sector Lauded

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit today attended an award ceremony to hail the bodies and practitioners in the testing and certification (T&C) sector for their outstanding performance in manpower development and service enhancement.

The Council for Testing & Certification launched the Testing & Certification Manpower Development Award Scheme 2021-22 for the first time with the aim of encouraging T&C bodies to invest in talent training and development.

Its other goal is to commend T&C practitioners who strive for continuous learning or contribute to service quality improvement.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr Sit said he was glad to see that the whole T&C sector had been paying great importance to manpower development.

“In order for Hong Kong’s T&C sector to better grasp the vast opportunities as provided under the National 14th Five-Year Plan and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, we need more capable and energetic young people to join the T&C profession for a stronger talent pool.”

Public and private T&C bodies of various scales and fields, as well as their employees, were drawn to apply for the scheme's manpower development corporate award and excellent professional award.
